I was a little unsure about this one. I had purchased several Peggy Karr pieces through my local dealer for quite a bit more per piece. This was a great deal and I went for it. Glad I did. The Peggy Karr 8-inch Square, Beach Chair Glass Plate is beautiful and practical. Perfect as a breakfast or dinner plate, or a stand-alone art piece, the Beach Chair Plate is delicate, yet durableand, it will never fade. The design is a part of the dish - it is not painted on the plate, and it is not applied with adhesives - it's actually part of the dish. Powdered colors are placed between two pieces of glass and then the total piece is fired at over 1500 degrees Fahrenheit, melting the glass together and permanently sealing in the colors and design. Since Peggy Karr products go through this process, this plate can be used every day, and the beautiful colors and design enjoyed for a lifetime. This plate is microwave safe. Plate is also dishwasher safe, but be mindful of harsh detergents and hard water so it doesn't haze. Like all untempered glass, this plate should not be placed in an oven.
